Lamplighter

For the Week of:
 May 20 - 26, 2013

The Lamplighter is the weekly newsletter of the First Baptist Chuch of Hamburg, Arkansas.

Would you like to have one of the old pews which was used in the auditorium prior to the 1994 renovation?  Due to some Sunday School class changes in location, we have twelve (12) pews which we need to give away to free up space.

Here are the guidelines for the pew give away:  (1) Contact our church secretary, Mrs. Deedee Ellis, during office hours no later than 4:00 on Tuesday afternoon, May 28, and let her know you would like to have a pew.  (2) If more than  twelve (12) people request a pew, we will have a drawing on Wednesday morning, May 29, to see who gets the pews.  (3) If you get a pew, it must be moved from the church no later than 4:00 Tuesday afternoon, June 4, so we can get the room they are in ready for Vacation Bible School.

Bro. Bobby

Thank you, choir, for a beautiful worship song last Sunday. You did such a good job and I thank you for your commitment to excellence in music and worship. I thought Benjamin did a wonderful job on the slide show for the graduates. I think it touched all of us. As Bro. Bobby said, we certainly want to remember all of our graduates in prayer. Many times, these students think of graduation as the end, but truly it is just the beginning. I pray it is the beginning of a life spent serving our awesome God.

Bro. Bob

P.S. Check out the "Just For Kids" page if you can help with children's activities this summer.

If you want to go on the fall trip to Branson, please contact the church office and get your name(s) on the list. We need an approximate head count to help us with motel rooms and tickets. We don’t need deposits at this time. The dates are October 31 - November 2.

Meet Anjelique!  Anjelique is the young lady at the Monticello Arkansas Baptist Children’s Home that WOM is now sponsoring.  She is seventeen and attends Monticello High School.  She just celebrated her birthday on January 26.  She attends First Baptist in Monticello and has been saved and baptized.  Her prayer request is for her grandmother’s health.  Her favorite activity is reading and her favorite color is blue.  We will have opportunities to reach out to Anjelique in the coming months and will let you know how you can help out as well.
